Charges Remain Against Pie-Thrower

(JTA/Virtual Jerusalem) - Judge Mark Epstein declined on April 30 to drop disorderly conduct charges against Rutgers student Abe Greenhouse, who threw a pie in Israeli Cabinet minister Natan Sharansky's face last September, because Greenhouse was not engaging in peaceful protest. Epstein told Greenhouse that if he "wants to be a political activist, perhaps he might study the life of Natan Anatoly Sharansky, a man who was involved in the human rights movement in the former Soviet Union."
