Powell Asks Syria to Boost Iraq Patrols
(AP/Newsday) - Secretary of State Colin Powell said Monday, "We're exploring ways of working with the Syrians to increase the density of forces with surveillance over that (the Iraqi) border." "It is in our mutual interest to deal with the problem....It is not in Syria's interest to be seen as a base from which infiltrators can come across to kill innocent Iraqis or to kill coalition troops," Powell said.
