Syrian Troops Take Over Eastern City after Four Days of Fighting

(AP-Washington Post) Syrian troops seized control of the eastern city of Deir el-Zour Wednesday following four days of intense shelling and gunfire. An activist said, "They are shooting anything that moves." On Wednesday, Syrian troops launched another operation in three suburbs of the capital Damascus.
