PA Won't Disarm Militants by Force
(UPI/Washington Times) - The Palestinian Authority has told Israel it would not disarm militant groups such as Hamas by force. Ministry of Interior spokesman Toufic Abu Khawasa said Interior Minister Nasser Youssef "told Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom at a recent meeting in Jerusalem that the PA won't use force to disarm militants."
