A Sour Note for Egyptian Elections

(Washington Times) Fran Coombs and Willis Witter - The Muslim Brotherhood has taken an increasingly public profile in the last week, with demonstrations it claims have resulted in the arrest of more than 2,000 people, most of whom remain in jail. The demonstrations have drawn much larger crowds than those of the fledgling Kifaya (Enough) group, which is largely peopled by disaffected intellectuals and former 1960s radicals, or of the Tomorrow party led by Ayman Nour. Nour has received favorable coverage in the Western media but is not taken seriously by most Egyptians.
