Meeting of Egyptian Journalist, Israeli Ambassador Stirs Storm
[Ynet News] Roee Nahmias - Israeli Ambassador to Egypt Shalom Cohen's visit this week to the state-run Al-Ahram newspaper's offices has stirred a storm of controversy, as some claimed this was part of "normalization of ties with Israel." The Egyptian Journalists Association demanded the reporter who met with him be fired. Makram Mohammed Ahmed, head of the journalists association, told the London-based al-Quds al-Arabi on Tuesday that he would not tolerate any deviation from the journalistic consensus, which opposes normalization with Israel.
