Abbas Denies Asylum to Supporters from Gaza

[AP] Karin Laub and Ibrahim Barzak - Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday refused to grant West Bank asylum to Fatah forces who fled to Israel after factional fighting in Gaza, despite fears for their safety. Abbas ordered nearly 200 fighters back to Gaza from Israel. After the Hamas takeover of Gaza last summer, Abbas agreed to resettle some 250 of his Gaza loyalists in the West Bank.
