(TIME) Melissa Chan - Some Muslims risked their lives to rescue Jews from persecution during World War II. Khaled Abdul Wahab sheltered two dozen Jews in Tunisia. Abdol Hossein Sardari, an Iranian diplomat, is credited with helping thousands of Jews escape Nazi soldiers by issuing them passports. The Muslim Pilkus family in Albania harbored Johanna Neumann and her mother in their home during the German occupation.
