(BBC News) Paul Wood - A Palestinian boy arrested with a bomb strapped to his chest has told the BBC he volunteered to become a suicide bomber to avoid going to school. Hussam Abdo, who was 15 at the time, said he kissed his mother goodbye, telling her he was going to school as usual, and then met some men from the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades who photographed him for his martyrs poster, fitted him with a bomb belt, and dispatched him to Israel. "I would become a martyr and go to my God. It's better than being a singer or a footballer. It's better than anything."2004-07-16 00:00:00Full Article
