Astronauts Prepare for Mars Voyage in Israeli Desert

(Tech Republic) Alison DeNisco Rayome - Six Israeli astronauts will stay in a specialized structure in Israel's Negev Desert near Mitzpe Ramon that simulates the unique environment of Mars. The project, called Desert Mars Analog Ramon Station (D-MARS), is under the guidance of Dan Blumberg, head of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev's Earth and Planetary Imaging Facility. If successful, more research missions could take advantage of this location.
