U.S. Helps Build New Force on Syria's Northern Border

(Reuters) Tom Perry and Orhan Coskun - The U.S.-led coalition is working with its Syrian militia allies to set up a new border force of 30,000 personnel, the coalition said on Sunday. The new "Border Security Force" will be deployed at border areas with Turkey and Iraq controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an alliance of militias dominated by the Kurdish YPG. Turkish President Erdogan's spokesman said the development was unacceptable.
