(Asharq Al-Awsat-UK) Iran is now "the largest backer financially and militarily" of Hamas, its leader in Gaza, Yehya al-Sinwar, said Monday. "Relations with Iran are excellent and Iran is the largest supporter of the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades with money and arms." The "relationship had become fantastic and returned to its former era." Sinwar added that with Iran's help, Hamas is accumulating military power in preparation for a battle for the liberation of Palestine.
