Iranian Opposition Leader Ends Hunger Strike

(New York Times) Thomas Erdbrink - Prominent Iranian opposition leader Mehdi Karroubi, 79, ended a one-day hunger strike on Thursday after the government agreed to meet some of his demands. The government agreed to remove the 12 guards stationed in his house and also promised to "endeavor" to realize his demand for a public trial, his son told the Saham news website.
