(Independent-UK) Niamh McIntyre - The first state visit by a British Royal to Israel will go ahead this year, Whitehall sources have suggested. The proposed visit would coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, a historic statement of commitment by the British government to support the establishment of a Jewish state in the Middle East. "It is an anniversary we will be marking with pride," British Prime Minister Theresa May recently told a meeting of the Conservative Friends of Israel.
