International Aid Conference Raises $7.6 Billion for Lebanon

[New York Times] Helene Cooper - Led by Saudi Arabia and the U.S., international donors from more than 30 countries met in Paris on Thursday and pledged $7.6 billion in aid for Lebanon, in an effort to prop up the government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. Saudi Arabia promised $1.1 billion in loans and grants. The U.S. pledged $770 million in loans and grants, bringing to $1 billion the amount it has pledged to the Siniora government since September.
