(Washington Post) Peter Finn - Prisoners were brought to Iraq's most feared Abu Ghraib prison in an ice-cream truck, a soft cone painted on its side. Some of those in the ice-cream van, facing 20 years in this prison rather than death, wondered if they were the unlucky ones. Thousands more who eluded the hangman were forced to survive in overcrowded, putrescent, disease-infested cells where the threat of violence, including beatings, torture, and summary execution, was ever-present.
