Saudi Money ‘Doesn’t Go to Militants’

(Arab News) Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas has denied that Saudi money intended for needy Palestinians reaches militant groups. “Saudi financial assistance to needy Palestinians goes through the Palestinian Authority and not to militant groups,” he told reporters on Saturday. “We have been receiving financial assistance from Saudi Arabia since the formation of the Palestine Liberation Organization. It is used to build houses, support poor students and buy relief supplies,” the Palestinian prime minister said.
