(Ha'aretz) Gideon Alon - Prime Minister Ariel Sharon opened Sunday's cabinet meeting with a statement that he had spoken by phone with Mazel, to thank him for standing up to "mounting anti-Semitism," and telling him that the government was behind his actions. "Mazel behaved properly," he said. "The trend is so outrageous that it could not be ignored without a response. I hope - and am sure - that everyone joins me in backing up Mazel."
