Egyptian Loses UNESCO Vote

[New York Times] Steven Erlanger - Bulgarian diplomat Irina Bokova was elected Tuesday as the new director general of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, defeating Egyptian Culture Minister Farouk Hosny by a vote of 31 to 27 in a fifth and final round of voting. Hosny was accused of anti-Semitism and censorship, and his lead slowly melted away as his opponents coalesced around Bokova.
