Austrian Man Leaves Fortune to French Village that Saved His Family from Nazis

(CNN) Eoin McSweeney and Arnaud Siad - Erich Schwam, a Jewish refugee who arrived in the French village of Le Chambon-sur-Lignon with his mother and father in 1943, has bequeathed a significant sum to the village to thank residents for hiding his family from Nazis during World War II. Schwam, who died without children at the age of 90, asked for the money to be used to fund scholarships and schools in the village.
