Cameraman Who Criticized Palestinian Authority Fired from Associated Press

(Jerusalem Post) Khaled Abu Toameh - Eyad Hamad, 63, a veteran Palestinian cameraman from Bethlehem, said on Wednesday that he was fired from the Associated Press (AP) after the Palestinian Authority filed a "complaint" against him. Hamad, who has worked for AP for 20 years, said he had criticized the Palestinian security forces for arresting and beating Palestinian journalist Anas Hawwari. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate condemned the "arbitrary dismissal" of the cameraman.
