Israel Supreme Court: State Has the Authority to Bar BDS Activists
(Times of Israel) Alexander Fulbright - Lara Alqasem was let into Israel Thursday after the Supreme Court ruled she could not be barred. Justice Neal Hendel ruled that while the state has the authority to bar BDS activists from the country, the law was not applicable in Alqasem's case. "In this case, preventing the entry of the plaintiff does not advance the purpose of the law....The fight against boycotts is fitting and vital, as are the actions taken by the State of Israel on the matter. However, the concrete action before us clearly deviates from the range of reasonableness and cannot be accepted."
