What to Do about Iran's Emerging Nuclear Plant

(Washington Post) - Russian and Iranian construction crews are working to complete a nuclear power plant at Bushehr, Iran, a country named by President Bush as part of the "axis of evil." Some U.S. defense officials argue that Bushehr should be destroyed before it receives its first load of nuclear fuel from Russia, and "There is some support for preemption within the administration," said Anthony Cordesman, a leading Middle East expert. "Within the next year, either the U.S. or Israel is going to either attack Iran's [nuclear sites] or acquiesce to Iran being a nuclear state," said John E. Pike, director of GlobalSecurity.org, a military and intelligence research center.
